I got a few sponges algueing up (is that a word?) in my swamp/bog tank outside right now. There starting to green up pretty good.

Hey everyone, I think I got it!! I can tell the difference between the males and females. My juvenile RCS are maturing enough now that I can see the saddles on the females. Thanks all, I think I got the male, female parts down now..The main thing I think to look at is to see if the females "skirt" hangs down even or below her swimmerettes, I'm still now sure of what the saddle looks like becuse when they eat it make a spot behind there head and down there dig...

Well I guess the verdict is in...Guilty of have an all female RCS tank...lol Ok...Now that we know that...Can I add all my baby RCS to the the adult RCS tank without the females killing the babies..There all between 3/16th and a 1/2 inck long..Both my tanks are at 74 degrees with slightly hard water...

Thanks for all the answeres...Yes I do use a conditioner on all my water changes and I use it in my rinse bucket to dip my leaves and anything else I introduce into my tanks...It's from Aqueon and is called "Water Conditioner", "Nuteralizes clorine and cloramine in tap water and helps...
