After doing some of my own research and asking some other forums, they are called temnocephala worms.

Cherax destructor 'Beard'
G'day guys... my cryafish has been living in a very green tank for a while now. I did finally get some time to clean it out but have noticed something pretty weird. He seems to have a little 'beard'. They are more on one side than the other, and they are like little grey/white wormy looking things. ...

Blue Marron (Cherax tenuimanus)
Recently bought a blue marron, and while my blue crayfish (C. destructor) is constantly walking around, chasing fish, bulldozing substrate and cleaning herself my marron just sits in its hide all day. Has anybody got any experience with marron? Is this normal?
Photos will come eventually.

I had 5 Neon tetras in his tank and only have 1 left.. I didn't think he'd be quick enough to catch them!! How often should he be fed?

Re: oh joy, more crayfish worms... any ideas? (on ID, I mean)
I got a cray just the other day and noticed on it's head was something like this. Whiteish in colour, one end stuck onto the cray, the other end with numerous little "arms". It was on the head for about 10 minutes and I haven't seen it since.
I assumed it was a hydra.

First Crayfish - Need Some Advice
G'day guys, I haven't been on this forum in a while but ages ago I posted a few posts about my freshwater crabs.. Anyway, I've been away for two weeks in the outback doing some jackaroo stuff and I only got back two days ago. So yesterday I went to the pet shop to buy a few boxes of crickets for my ...

Yes I am 100% sure they are freshwater. They live 100s of kilometres away from the nearest saltwater, in dried up creek beds that flood annually with the wet season rains. As for the species, I can only get down to the genus which is Austrothelphusa / Holthuisana . I'm not sure what they have finall...
