Re: Neocaridina disease or parasite
Definitely gr81. Before I made this topic there was a tank I had decided to give up on. A couple weeks before I bleached it I just stopped caring for it and I didn't take out any of the sick shrimp. Some died and I left them in there and the number of sick shrimp went from maybe a 10th of the popula...

Re: Neocaridina disease or parasite
As far as a photo goes they look just like this photo that was posted by another member: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/ZeroCatgravity/ZMisco%20Shrimp/45RCS599400W.jpg Sometimes the white area is larger. I definitely do not think it's a fertilizer problem but outside of being infected by the...

Re: Neocaridina disease or parasite
I gave the tanks a good cleaning / water change and we'll see how it goes. I seriously doubt it could be a fertilizer problem but if it was that would be great, I can deal with that.

Neocaridina disease or parasite
Something has been wiping out my yellow, cherry, and natural color neocaridina's. The meat that runs from the base of the head to the tail turns white. The whole shrimp is not milky, just the core around the vein that runs the length of the tail. The bottom half and the head of the shrimp remain cle...

CPO Breeding Question
I had a male and female attempt to mate the other day. They were mating but the male only held onto her for a couple of minutes... could they have successfully mated in that time or did the female just escape his grasp?

Yellow Shrimp offspring all female.
Hi, I have a colony of yellow shrimp that seem to have done fine. The colony is much larger now than it was 6 months ago when I first received the shrimp. My problem is that all my current shrimp are saddled females with no males. I noticed that as time went on the population became increasingly ske...

Haha, my initial reaction was "Holy Shit!" because for a second I thought the leaf in the 2nd picture was a hand and finger pointing at the shrimp.

I agree that 'shrimps' is appropriate when speaking of multiple species of shrimp.

Interesting. Do you keep the water at room temperature or heat it?

Neonshrimp, I'm doing the same thing... moss and ferns mainly. There was a few pieces of riccia mixed in with the moss and that has just exploded into bright green patches. It's definitely the fastest growing plant in the tank, and I like the look of it. I have a few sags some stem plant that looks ...

I think you are making an excellent decision to go with a large tank, my smaller shrimp tanks require much more work than my large cherry tank because it's such a solid, self-regulating entity. Personally, I think you could drop your primary filtration. I have a 90 gallon cherry shrimp tank with a f...

Yellow Shrimp mixed in with Cherries
About a month ago I ordered some additional cherry shrimp for my colony from a seller online, and last night I see a yellow shrimp swimming around the tank. I'm fairly certain this yellow shrimp came in unnoticed as a juvenile, and that some of the cherries have mixed with yellows in the past. My qu...

A tear down is the only way I know of that you'll be able to get rid of them without hurting your shrimp. I have pest snails in some of my tanks, but by not over-feeding the populations stay small. I've tried physically removing them as I spotted them, but I can't tell that it ever did any good so n...

Are Indian Zebra shrimp tropical?
Will they do fine at room temperature, or will they need a heater through the cold part of the year?
