Re: My shrimp tank on YouTube, and more...

Very cute - like a shrimpie fashion show with runway music! I am soooo new at this, only had my shrimp for almost a month, and am really getting into it. Are the cherry shrimp brackish or fresh water? What kind of plants do you suggest for brackish water, if any? I have Hawaiian Opae shrimp, I am a...

My shrimp tank on YouTube, and more...

Thought I'd share my video creation I posted on YouTube. I made a video of my 10 gal shrimp tank and 29 freshwater community, edited with music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrnDFJ1LrF0 I wasn't sure if this should go in "Member Galleries", but these aren't exactly still photos :). I am ...

Re: Positive ID of CRS Please

Thanks for the response Mustafa. On a totally different note... My 10gal tank has 14 CRS and 3 Red Cherrys. I am considering buying a group of at least 20 Red Cherrys to add into this same tank. Is it common to mix these 2 type of shrimps and could there be any aggression/territorial problems with a...

Positive ID of CRS Please

I am not 100% sure (maybe 95%), but my LFS labeled these shrimp as "Zebra Shrimp". I bought the last 3 he had as he priced them cheaper the Cherry Reds! I look online and it looks like I have Crystal Red Shrimps. I am attempting a pic upload, someone please confirm these are CRS: http://d....

Thx for the info Canadian! What u said makes a lot of sense cause it seems my crayfish has been on a tear... eating my anacharis plants and I think he totally ate all of the snails I had too! So I would guess his natural instincts are kicking in for him to "fatten" up and really eat so he ...

Main Claws Detached!!

Pics will follow when I get home later... figured I'd try to explain this first: My crayfish lost both of his large claws! At first, i thought he had moulted... but after a close look at him last nite, it's definitely not a moult. I can't imagine why this occured. He has no competitors in the tank. ...

My filter intake - with media bag mesh

but my one suggestion would be, a sponge over the intake might be easier in the long run (I've messed with making a cover out of netting too and sponge IMO is definitely better to work with). I don't know how small the holes on the media bags are, but shrimplets are quite tiny, so thought I should ...

GunmetalBlue.... Mustafa uses "breathable" bags and the blue u see is just the ink that is stamped on by the company that sells those bags... his water wasn't blue. Thx for the tip on using sponge... I shall keep my eyes out and see what's available. The media-bag holes are quite small.......

65 degrees F ok??

I started up a 3 Gallon Marineland Eclipse for my newly arrived Cherry Reds I purchased from Mustafa ... the one with the built in filter/biowheel and fluroscent bulb all in the hood... but it didn't come with a heater. The coldest my house gets in the winter is around 65 degrees Farenheit. Will my ...

Thanks for the info Mustafa. I actually should setup a quarantine tank... just haven't found a spot. However, ick generally affects the whole tank thus I am doing the increase and temp and salt treatment for the tank. When the weather gets warmer, I think I'll be ready to order some red cherrys... I...

What do the shrimp experts here think of 86 degrees F and salt affecting my Singapore/Wood shrimps and ghost shrimp?
