Thanks for the reply. My concern was whether or not they are currently overstocked and if I need to relocate some to my other tank. I guess they seem so dependent on or so happy in planted tanks (eating the dying leaves, and plucking algae) that i didn't want to put them in my "sterile" pl...

Hi, I'm new to amanos and when I got my first round I found some "escaping" so weeks later when I could only find two shrimp I thought the rest were gone and got some more. Wow :shock: they can hide really well---I just watched carefully and found there are at least 5 shrimp in this 10g pl...

Nerite or olive snails are sold for eating algae, but I don't have any experience to share. Amano shrimp are currently wiping out my BBA and hair algae.

Amanos keep "scratching" themselves?

Is it normal for Amanos to kind of hunch up and scrape themselves with their legs occasionally or even frequently? ok, no one seems interested, but now the guy says they're Japanese algae eating shrimp and they look a bit like ghost shrimp so I'm thinking they're Yamato/Amano shrimp, and I'm glad.
