I wouldn't recommend any small shrimps with fish, my rainbowfishes ate 5 cherries and 3 bumblebees (those we´rw my first shrimps half a year ago)... Expensive meal, 40 euros

Amano shrimps have been doing just fine in the same tank with my fish. I would prefer them.

try spinach as an alternative to the cucumber. they love it. Spinach rots in warm water really fast and turns the water into a spinachsoup  *bad experiences over here* I prefer spirulina for the shrimps babies (and adults too). If I put some cucumber in the tank for applesnails to eat, the s...

Prices around here (southeast Finland  )
Bumblebees, tigers and red cherries cost 5-8 euros.
Amano shrimps may cost from 2 to 6 euros.

In my hometown all these shrimps cost 5 euros. Just 100km away, Helsinki, for example red cherries may cost 11 euros

I've heard that keeping Procambarus sp. in malawi tank can make it so blue that it can be mistaken for blue crayfish. Could very hard water turn amano shrimps blueish?

I'm pretty sure that I have read that in a 40l tank you could keep a 100 shrimps (like red cherry etc.).

What do you think?

If its a shrimp only tank I don't think you'll have a problem. In the tank I have 4 different shrimps (tiger, red cherry, bumblebee & green) some yellow, purple and blue applesnails, a male bristlenose pleco and a Procambarus alleni . The pleco hasn't taken any intrest in shrimps (used to live ...

Small infants with adult shrimps, problems?

I have (in my 127 liter tank) some "pregnant" shrimps: 1 tiger, 1 green and 8 red cherries  I was wondering if I should move the pregnant females to another tank? I don't have anything ready but it would take just few days to put up a 40l tank. It's just that I don't actucally live in...

I had 5 red cherries and 3 bumblebee shrimps in my community tank with red rainbowfishes (Glossolepis Insicus) for a day... After that I haven't seen them :( I tested if the fish would eat these shrimps: I threw a dead green shrimp into the aquarium. The fish ripped it into peaces in seconds! :shock...
