Mine also get very active afterwards, not during. However, in my case, both temp and pH is about the same.
I love to do water changes because of the activity that I get to see right after one.

OH... I'm sorry to hear this... really, I know how it feels... :( Did you test the pH of the water? Maybe it became too acidic due to so many nutrients (food, waste, etc.) and that did not help their molting. How long was the tank they were in set up? Maybe the the tank had not finished its cycling ...

Well... I guess people here either do not know about FW shrimps or don't care about them. As a result, stores only stock what people want. I have only seen japonicas and ghosts, nothing else. Maybe if I lived closer to Orlando I'd have a better chance but I need to take a 45 minute drive to get to t...

Wow... I wish mine could do that... Mine are not terribly afraid but are not that friendly. Hmmm... I am envious of you guys; Amanda_h's shrimps help her kill unwanted snails, yours climb onto your fingers... Do I have to change my name to Amanda to get some respect from my shrimps ???? :? M...

Shrimps and Ferts
For those of you who keep cherries, amanos, ghosts and any other kind of FW shrimps in your planted tanks...
Do you fertilize your tanks? If so, do you just rely on CO2 or do you also use macro and micro nutrients?
Thank you.
Maria.

Plecos and Ghosts
I have a 20g planted tank that has suffered a lot due to the aftermath of 3 different hurricanes. What once was a lushly planted tank has been reduced to a ... well... a kind of a barren looking "thing". Due to so many power outages, intense heat periods, no carbon and very few water chang...
