Mustafa's shrimp on Aquabid

Hey Mustafa...... I ordered some cherry shrimp from you a few months ago.

I saw that you had some wild type shrimp on Aquabid. Are you going to put these in your shrimp Store?

Mine failed. I don't know what happened. She carried the eggs for so long, then one day they were just gone..... and no babies. I have both males and females though, so hopefully I'll get the chance to try again.

How old are your larvae??

I don't have any live food small enough for them to eat, and there's really no time to order some and then grow it. So I was thinking I could feed them some of that special liquid food that's made for marine invertabrates. Do you think that will work?

There is someone here that has been successful with Amanos, but I don't remember what his/her name is. Do you have your larvae in brackish water or in full strength salt water? I know now that her eggs are DEFINATELY fertile, because it's been several days and she hasn't dropped them. I am so excite...

When I had Amanos in my community tank the Gouramis didn't bother them, but the Anglefish would bite their legs off. They'd end up at the bottom of the tank, helpless and dying. Gouramis have a reputation for being semi-aggresive, but in my experience (which means nothing, really) this isn't true. I...

PREGNANT AMANO!!!

I went to the pet store today. I bought a new Bamboo Bhrimp, 4 Amanos, and some fish; I didn't buy their Red Cherrys though, because I'd rather buy young ones from Mustafa. On my way out I was looking at the "feeder" Ghost Shrimp. I saw that some of the females were pregnant, so I bought t...

Wow!! Lucky you!!

Do you think it's likely they'll have males at the place where I got 11 females in one batch??

Why do shops and importers only have females??

All right, you've convinced me. I'll fill up the tank. It was always getting nasty and the constant water changes were a pain in the but, so it's probably better anyway.

Wanna hear something even funnier?? The blue crays: When they are small, Petco sells them as "blue shrimp", and when they are big, Petco sells them as "blue lobsters". Isn't that funny? How can a shrimp turn into a lobster when it grows up?! Even funnier.... idiot customers (or e...

It was the June 2005 issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist. The article was actually about the long pincer crayfish, but it said that ALL crayfish come out of the water; and when you have a crayfish (any species) tank you should only fill the water up to cover the animal by an inch, and provide rocks and ...

They climb the rocks, just not out of the water. I watch them at night too and haven't seen it.

I read an article about crayfish in a magazine and it said they need a place to come up out of the water. The guy at the petstore said this too. So this is NOT true?? I should fill the tank up??

You are totally right. I know biodiversity is a good thing, but I just can't get past how icky it looks. That whole (shrimp) tank looks like CRAP right now, with the planaria and the funky stuff growing on the sand. I can't really clean it because of the tiny baby shrimp.

Of the two tanks that have this, one is a 20 gallon long and the other (shrimp tank) is a 10 gallon. And yes, they slide/wiggle on the glass. The water condition is ok, though. Both tanks are fully cycled and have been around for at least 6 months. The wormy things just showd up a few weeks ago. I w...
