For some reason it feels incorrect to just pour distilled water right in. Does it make sense to cycle the distilled water with some of their water before introducing it to the tank, or am I overthinking this

Evaporation + Refilling Tank
About a year ago, my husband accidentally knocked off my shrimp tank and a colony of 70+ shrimp I’ve had for nearly a decade was mostly lost, except for about 20 survivors I rescued off the floor. I frantically threw together a new tank with proper salinity ratios and distilled water, but this new ...

Re: Babies!!
It's definitely a testament to your instructions Mustafa regarding following the setup and minimal disruptions of the tank. Re: My first tank!
Okay great, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing! Today they seem to be less active and hiding more, hopefully full/tired out from all of the eating. I also wonder if it's the temperature, it's 1-2 degrees cooler today (water is at 70* now) than the other two days so maybe that's why they're not as ...

My first tank!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my little tank with you. I actually set it up over a year and a half ago with Mustafa's macroalgae and some lava rock, didn't touch it at all, and put the snail in 2 months ago. Due to moving, grad school, life, etc. I never got around to pulling the trigger and ...
