Re: Wiggly worms in my opae ula tank?

Well...I scooped them out with a tiny Dixie cup and flushed them down. I'm a bit upset seeing as my tank has a cover, though it does have an air hole. Will this ruin my tank?

Re: Wiggly worms in my opae ula tank?

I should add that I haven't ever seen any shrimp carrying any eggs.

Wiggly worms in my opae ula tank?

I've had my tank set up for over a year and have never fed the system. I noticed 3 what look like wiggly worms floating at the top of the water. When the water is disturbed, they will start to wiggle and float down to a lower part of the tank. What are they?

Am I ready for shrimp/snails yet?

Hello all and happy Thanksgiving. More time has gone by with my little 1 gallon tank. The macroalgae I ordered from here has definitely become lighter green even though I have a lamp on the tank 12 hours a day. I'm also looking for green algae growing but seem to see these tiny microscopic spores of...

Re: Snail Emergency

Thanks Veranus for your reply. Just to clarify, my tank is a bit less than a gallon, I shouldn't worry about finding the other snails? I can't imagine what happened. I scooped out 2 of them and put them with a bit of tank water in a cup. No movement. I'm a bit discouraged as I know they're hard to k...

Snail Emergency

Hi everyone. More snail questions or concerns. I have a 3/4 gallon tank that has been put together for about 1 month. Ordered snails and macroalgae 2ish weeks ago. My snails dug themselves into the gravel and have not moved since, no matter when in the day or night I checked. I washed my hands just ...

Re: Mustafa's snails

I'm trying to remain positive about the snails I've got but I honestly don't see them moving from their dug in positions. I add about 2 drops of Prime but is not making a difference. Trying to be as hands off as possible. Mustafa, help!?

Re: Mustafa's snails

Thank you very much Mustafa for writing in. I was starting to get worried about my tiny charges. Yes they somehow dug themselves into the gravel and basically stay put ever so slightly moving. I can see some of the 10 because they buried themselves next to the edge of the tank. I think I'm starting ...

Re: Mustafa's snails

I got the snails Thursday. Initially that evening they were fairly active but probably since second half of yesterday have been in the gravel not moving much if at all. Maybe my ammonia is too high or there isn't yet enough food growing for them to eat?

Re: Mustafa's snails

I have only a couple of days ago received my snails. I'm not sure if I should be concerned but they don't seem to be very active. My substate is aquarium gravel with a little crushed coral mixed in. They seem to always be buried just below the surface not really moving much if at all. I thought they...

Mustafa's snails

Got my snails and macroalgae today. Very interesting creatures they are. Are the ones that I got babies and if they are how much bigger will they get? How long do they live?

Preventing snails from taking over tank

Ok so I've now ordered Mustafa's macroalgae and snails. But when I started doing research on the types of snails I'd get I got a little nervous finding out they can reproduce very quickly. My tank is just 1 gallon so not a bunch of room for 1000 snails! Will not feeding the tank really keep populati...

Just starting out

Hi all! I've decided to start a small opae ula tank (1 gallon). I've read many helpful threads on this website and got lots of good information. I mixed up an appropriate amount of brackish water, thoroughly washed gravel and decorations with distilled water. This was 3 days ago. My question is, is ...
