Do you know the ingredients of these wafers? Cause I guess there is some spirulina in it... Shrimp, catfish and crays love that ( even some other fish, like livebearers)! And it is also very good for there immune systems. I've bought some special spirulina flakes for that purpose and they all love ...

They also love Brussle sprouts (hope I'm writing this correct), but watch out for polution.. (Don't keep them too long in the tank)
I feed my shrimp all this veggies: spinach, carrots, green pea's, cucumber, paprika, lettuce.
I put them in the microwave for about 30 seconds before feeding.

LOL, Dutch is quite hard for foreign people... but most of the time the people who moved over to the Netherlands from an other country are much better in it...
But the most important thing is that we can understand each other

The problems you seem to have with molts is prob. a product of a few different things. Crayfish like HARD water. The harder the better.

I don't agree on the hardness... I've got two pairs of cambarellus montezumae montezumae's and I did some research for the water parameters... They like medium ...

I actually prefer the spongefilters, because no young shrimp can get caught in the filter housing and they graze of the sponges (especially for youngsters, there's a lot of good nutricients in the sponge).
Also, the spongefilters are air-driven, that meens that there is al lot more oxigen resolved ...

My experience with crystal reds and red cherries are quite different from other dutch petshrimp keepers/breeders... My cr are breeding quite well (although there are some periods when there are no eggs at all), but the red cherries were not breeding untill last week. I've had them for more than 5 ...
