Re: Brown Algae on Wall
Good for you!! My first hatch was on 6/2/18. Around 7/23 I saw the tiny shrimp swimming with the adults. Around the end of June and into July, I had many new larvae, as I had several berried shrimp hatching around the same period of time. I now see adults, tiny shrimps and a few teeny shrimps when ...

Re: Brown Algae on Wall
Finally! The eggs have hatched and I just found 6 larvae floating at the tank so far. I hope there's more as they are so tiny, it's really easy for them to hide in the rock.

Berried at last!
Finally!!! My first berried mama. I'm so happy that my little Opae is berried.
Can't wait for the babies. What should I do? My logic tells me no feeding, no cleaning the wall, and do not do anything to disturb the tank. Is there anything that need to do??

Re: Brown Algae on Wall
Update of my tank. I clean the tank twice since April. Seems like the brown algae growth is much better in control now. Water is clear and no smell at all. No feeding as I think there's so much food in the tank for them. 2 Opae molted during this period of time. Their size is getting bigger, I think...

Re: Why most of my supershrimp white and pink color?
As Varanus said, you can't really externally tell where the shrimp are from...coloration varies everywhere. However, I can tell that your tank has LOTS of organic matter as I see cyanobacteria and lots of bubbling in the pictures you posted in the past and in this thread. That can affect coloration...

OK. I'll stop my itchy hand. I am putting down my curtain to reducing the natural lights from my window. Hopefully it will reduce the growth.

At first it's smaller patches, it started about a week ago and reduced, then now my whole tank have it. Does it bring harm to my tank? Do I need to clean it. 0.5 gallon, with chaeto, crashe...

Re: Good ways to migrate shrimps
Opae can live in wide range of salinity. I assume that your tank is blackish water as guided. Then, you shall not need to worry. As for the PH and Nitrates shouldn't be an issue if you have set the parameters right in your tank. The ecosystem should able to work out. I have experience that my tank t...

Molting after Feeding
I noticed that after every feeding, my opae will have molting. I feed last night, then remove it after 1 and half hour. Today I found 2 molting. Anyone experience this before? Anyone know why?
I also find the wall of the tank look dirty. Small round brown spot. Do we need to clean it?

Re: First timer in Opae
Sounds that the little guys are normal. Sometimes they are still, sometimes they scrubbing with their front limbs. Sometimes they just walk slowly. Previously they are always busy walking around the corals and wall.
