Appreciate it! I received the mossball very recently so I guess I just got lucky. I bought a few at the same time since I have multiple tanks. This is the only one so far that has spawned a little buddy.Super Jess wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 5:00 pm Love this pic! How long did it take for your baby mossball to get that big?

Re: Importance of Lava Rock
Where could I get lava rocks safe for the shrimp? All lava rock are safe for shrimp as far as I know. They should just be cleaned thoroughly depending on where you get them. They don't need to be specifically for aquarium use. I got mine from Amazon (they were meant to be used for grills/barbecues).

Re: Questions for the Experts!
Welcome to the hobby! As far as I know, pretty much any substrate is fine to use with these shrimp. Just make sure you clean it thoroughly (without soap). I've seen some cautions against boiling rocks as well, since it could be potentially hazardous. Do so at your own risk. A thorough cleaning shoul...

Re: New Tank Inquiry: Protruding Above Water
Oh I see! Thanks for the link. I guess the only potential drawback I see is it prevents you from being able to cover the top of your tank. Having a cover is beneficial for reducing evaporation and also for preventing dust and environmental pollutants from entering your tank. Aerosolized cleaning pr...

Re: New Tank Inquiry: Protruding Above Water
What is a felt plant? Is it a plant made of fabric? It's just a softer version of the typical plastic aquarium-safe plants. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/BEGONDIS-Aquarium-Decorations-Artificial-Non-toxic/dp/B079CZRVB8 I know people here don't recommend putting in real plants since they d...

Re: New Tank Inquiry: Protruding Above Water
Haha. Well, I enjoy the look of them and they're safe for aquarium use so I'd like to leave them in. I was just making sure having them slightly above the water was okay. I couldn't think of any downside but I'm very new to this so I don't want to do anything wrong! Sorry if it's a silly question. :...

New Tank Inquiry: Protruding Above Water
Salutations! Been lurking in the forum for a while and finally taking the plunge into cycling a tank myself. Just had a quick question about my setup. I have some leaves from a felt plant slightly rising above the waterline. Is there any negative repercussion to this? I want to ensure I don't jeapor...
