We have 3 happy survivors living in the half gallon. I cleaned out and re-started the cycling process on the 3 gallon about a week ago. Waiting on a new order of shrimp. And yes-- I built a locking lid!

I designed a beautiful new tank (3 gallons), cycled it, and added 12 shrimp (a new order of 10 plus 2 oldies from my other tank). And then my six year old nephew added four (4!) algae wafers to "feed the shrimp". It took me two days to notice, when the strong smell of decaying organic matt...

Hey all! This morning I found one of my shrimp dead, buried deep under my gravel substrate. It almost looks like he burrowed down and then was crushed when the rocks shifted? Well, we're nearly 48 hours in and the third lil guy is still holding on. Swimming around a bit now, too. Maybe there's hope that all three survive!

About 24 hours ago, I accidentally knocked my 3-yr old ecosphere off my desk and onto the floor. It SHATTERED. Water everywhere, shrimp, gravel, cyanobacteria... etc. One shrimp died on impact, and I managed to find and pick the other 3 out of the carpet. I found this site while frantically research...
