I also tend to like fish which are passive as well, so it might just be me. Probably :) I on the other hand always preferred fish with character, like cichlids. Don't get me wrong, I like dwarf shrimp and always managed to find place in my tanks for them. It's just that the longarm shrimp are more ...

Constant fights or deaths of shrimp usually mean WE did something wrong. IMO the behavior of agressive species is just more interesting :) Some useful tips how to be a shrimp maniac and not drive everyone around crazy: 1. If a friend/family member/guest says your shrimp are cute, nod, smile and say ...

Cucumbers/carrots/zucchini and other veggies (some fruit also, apples for example) are good baits. Check out if you have egg-laying snails in your tank (most of them breed thi...

Females of this species carry eggs ALL THE TIME :) This may be a problem at times - you can quickly end up with hundreds of shrimp. Fine if you have somebody who'll gladly take them, bad if you have to keep them and don't have a dozen of tanks. Due to the fact you live in the US where Red Claws are ...

The German name 'Ringelhandgarnele' suits this shrimp well. Unfortunately, the M. dayanum is called the same. How exactly does one dif...

Hendersoni group - need help!

The one thing I don't understand completly is this: 'die Finger des zweiten Scherenbeines voll entwickelter Män...
