I have a one-gallon tank. The lid has a hole for feeding, etc., so water evaporates.

I have been topping it off with RO water per Petshrimp.com:

Add RO or distilled water whenever the level of your tank drops by more than about 10%. You do not need to add any more salt ...

The new tanks still needs to wait to be ready after setting it up, but you can accelerate things by moving the old substrate/decoration/plants etc. over to the new tank. You should be able to shorten the whole process down to maybe a week or so.

I just received my opae ula a few days ago. I love them!

I'm not happy with my setup, a one-gallon jar. I don't like the way the curved glass distorts the shrimp. Also, I can't get a good angle with the lights.

I just wanted to mention how impressed I was with all three shipments I received from supershrimp.com. I ordered all the basics for my tank setup first. Then I ordered snails and microalgae. Finally, I ordered opae ula.

The two shipments with live creatures were so beautifully and securely packaged ...

I received my opae ula yesterday. I am utterly fascinated with them and could watch them swim all day.

For the most part, they're pale, which I expected. At least one looks like it has a red saddle.

Today it's 40-something degrees and we don't have any heat because it's so late in the season. (I'm wearing my heavy hoodie with the hood up.)
