I have about 12. I can tell females as they have those spots on the back near the head - same as red cherry females. But no eggs yet.

Is this Sri Lanka Dwarf Shrimp?

Hi Mustafa and All!
Here is one of the shrimps I got from a wholesaler (I ordered Japonica shrimps). I tried to identify it using the "shrimp varieties" page. The closest is probably Sri Lanka Dwarf Shrimp.
What is your opinion?

Hey Amanda, I set up 10G tank on my desk at work :-D I got 3 Red Cherries from my friend, two females (now both are with eggs) and one male. I hope it will work out this time. I also have 4 Green shrimps in that tank. What fertilizers are you using? A modified version of Tropica's MasterGrow. I also...

Thanks! I wish I had a camera as amanda_h used.
By the way, Red Cherries didn't survive in this tank for a long. Maybe because of the plant fertilzer I added. My Green shrimp survived though.

I got Wood shrimps

I bought two Wood shrimps today. They are so nice! My wife says they are scary though :). One shrimp is dark-grey-red-brown, another one is yellow-brown. See their pictures and some other pictures. http://www.eremenko.com/04120501.JPG http://www.eremenko.com/04120502.JPG http://www.eremenko.com/0412...

Thank you, Mustafa. The reason I asked is that my shrimps look exactly as the one at the left-bottom corner on your Ninja Shrimp page. They are red and they have an orange-red strip along their back. I bought them as Red Cherries from the guys I emailed you about. This means I have Ninja shrimps not...

Ninja Shrimp page

Mustafa, on the Ninja Shrimp page you have some pictures at the bottom. Are they all Ninja Shrimps? The last one (left-bottom corner) looks like the Red Cherry to me. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks a lot!

Tiger shrimps and Red Cherry shrimps

I really like both these species. I want to keep them in one tank, but I don't want them crossbreed.

So my questions are:

1. Is it ok to keep these shrimps together?
2. Will Tiger shrimps cross with Red Cherry shrimps?

Thanks a lot for answers!

Concern about phosphate level.

In my planted tank I am trying to keep a pretty high phosphate level, 1 - 2 ppm. This level is no problem for fish though.
Does anyone keep Red Cherries or other shrimps in such high phosphate level? Any info will be much appreciated! :)
