I'm not qualified to voice an opinion on the rights or wrongs of the op's intent. FWIW I've seen a few threads that contained people voicing concerns with particular places of business...I think the problem arises when we start essentially advertising for other sellers/businesses on Mustafa's own ...

The local petsmart here in Destin has them as well. It was boderline funny to read the card with the max size of 1" and look in the tank at 3" specimens. It is a shame that the chains are so clueless....it really hurts the popularity of the hobby along with the animals themselves.

I'm just about to go get some magnolia leaves out of my backyard to soak a bit....let me know how your experiment goes! I think I'm going to lay a few over a normal substrate to see what happens when I start my shrimp only tank next month.

I saw in Mustafa's intro article that sponge filters are recommended for shrimp.....Has anyone had experience with http://www.ultimatesponge.com ? I ran across an auction on aquabid and it looks impressive.....

I've never had a sponge filter in my experience...I'm a Fluval guy I guess and I thought ...

I'd think the earlier poster is correct.....I'm in northwest FL and magnolias seem to be located near water quite frequently. Please update on your success with these as I think they'd be relatively appealing visually because of their shape.
