Re: Blue shrimp w/ GREEN ? on it

That's just really, really weird looking. Almost looks like he has moss growing out from under him...I suppose it must be some sort of fungus but it's certainly bizarre.

Re: Help !! Need Advice !!

I, too, would suggest just buying a brand new tank. A 10 gal tank (just tank, nothing else) should probably cost you under $20, I would think. A good tube of aquarium silicone sealant will probably cost half that, so in the end you are only spending an additional $10 or so, and for that price you av...

Re: black cherry shrimp?

I'm no expert but I know that the experts here will probably be able to help you 110% more effectively if you could post a couple of pictures.

suffering serious shrimp withdrawl!

Hi all :smt006 Been a while since I've been active (posting) on the forums here but wondering if anyone else is (like me) suffering from "shrimp withdrawl." I got into the dwarf shrimp thing a couple years ago and, thanks to a lot of good info from this site and from various folks who post...

I agree, dwarf shrimp can be incredibly addictive once you get going.

Please keep us informed on how your tank is progressing! :D

Neonshrimp, there are quite a few aquarium stores in the greater Rome area. Unfortunately, none of them are within walking distance of where I live, and I do not have a car here, so I have not as yet had a chance to visit any of them. I live right in the historic city center (one block from Trajan's...

getting started with shrimp in Italy

Hi all, Been a little over a year since I was last active here. But thanks to advice I got on this forum a year ago I was able to keep and very successfully breed a tank of Red Cherry Shrimp that became amazingly prolific. In the process, I absolutely fell in love with dwarf shrimp. Even though I ha...

my first babies! (but also...more ostracods)

First the good news, just this afternoon I saw babies in my RCS tank for the first time! I'm so excited, and also relieved... noticed early yesterday that the first of my five berried females no longer had any eggs, and when I searched the tank for babies yesterday I couldn't see any, so I wasn't su...

I, too, find that my male RCS consistently swim around a lot more than the females. I mean, a lot more.

Just so you know, the normal lingo on this forum is that RCS = Red Cherry Shrimp. So your question does not make sense, you seem to be asking if you can add red cherry shrimp to a red cherry shrimp tank. Are you talking about Crystal Red Shrimp? If so, those are normally identified as CRS. Please cl...

1st RCS tank, update plus advanced ?'s

Hi everyone, First of all, thanks to all of you who gave me advice a few weeks back when I was setting up my first RCS tank. By using some crushed coral, I now have the pH stabilized at around 7.2 or 7.3 and everyone seems happy. Of the initial dozen or so RCS I received, two of my females are now b...

I'm jumping into this thread late, but since I'm here, figured I'd ask how progress has been. Last update was in June, how has the breeding gone?

P.S. -- I also really like the name, "Amber Shrimp." Though the coffee addict in me was partial to the name mocha... :D

All I can say is...wow. Wow.

Also, if you hit the "back" button at the bottom of that page, it brings you to a listing of other critters, among them a pink, almost an opaline-pink ramshorn snail. That one also gets a "wow."
