NEED PHOTOS please help

Hi Friends! I'm a university student studying to be a teacher. I'm writing a lesson plan about Opae Ulas for my final project, but I can't seem to find any free, non-copyright pictures! Could I borrow someone's pictures of their Opae ? I'll cite you!! I need them ASAP...like, in 2 hours. Sorry!! Tha...

Re: Lots of questions

Hi everyone!! SO, I introduced Mustafa's snails on Thursday and everything seems to be going fine. I can usually see like 3 snails at a time hanging out, they burrow and stick to my walls. ALSO, there is a snail that is inside Mustafa's macroalgea. Like, the little guy has been there for some days....

Re: What did I do wrong

Algae grows from carbon dioxide, inorganic nutrients, and sunlight. So, in short, yes, it grows out of "nothing". Actually its my understanding that they come from algae spores that float around pretty much everywhere, growing when they land in a good environment. It just looks like algae...

Re: What did I do wrong

Yes, I already PMed Mustafa, and haven't got a response yet. I am not sure if Hong Kong has some custom control regulations on living animals or plants, which could be the primary reason the store doesn't have a destination for Hong Kong yet, but I hope not. I will get some ammonia kit ASAP, but in...

Re: Flipper's Shrimp Journal

They'll be great! Mine went from San Diego to Vermont and they were packed really well. Never knew what hit 'em :) Looking forward to the Wednesday pics. Awesome! I have to admit, I was a little nervous when I saw how far they have to travel... I'm so excited, though. They have left the San Diego S...

Never add it again?

Re: Excess Calcium??

Calcium will dissolve at the rate it is needed to buffer the tank, all by itself. As long as there is a source of calcium carbonate available, your tank will balance itself. Aragonite as a substrate is an easy way to provide the calcium carbonate because aragonite IS calcium carbonate. It's the stu...

Re: What did I do wrong

I knew my plants have problems but I didn't realize it was that serious. But I don't really have much choices since I live in Hong Kong and all I can find here that I think are the best are all in my tank already. Do you know how hard I tried to purchase this Mustafa algae? It sadly doesn't ship to...

Excess Calcium??

I've been obsessing over the amount of calcium in my tank as the only source is currently aragonite sand. I've been touching base with a few users on the forum about the best sources of calcium. I can't find reasonably priced crushed coral in my area (strange...), but I did find a bag online that's ...

Re: Supershrimp mossball reproduction

What about corals? Can I add any coral? No, live corals need full ocean strength salinity and also need be fed much more frequently than our shrimp. I'm not aware of any brackish water corals. You can add dead or fake coral from the store. Is crushed coral beneficial for my tank? I already have ara...

Re: What did I do wrong

First thing you need to do is stop feeding. Second you did good by removing all those live plants. It's just my opinion that macroalgae (only the studd Mustafa on this site sells) is the only type of plant you want. I have 50+ opas in my tank and they are doing great with just brackish snails and m...

Mustafa wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2017 3:11 pm Yes, it will survive, but it won't grow further unless it gets nutrients somehow. Just make sure that the "direct sun" does not heat the water excessively.
How can we provide it with nutrients? Apart from starting a new Opae Ula tank... ;-)
