Hello, I'm new here, so i want to greet eweryone first.
I have a problem. I have two breeding amano shrimp in prepared for them 10 liter aquarium and i was waiting for my little shrimp release. 3 days ago i obserwed few (20-30) larvaes in mysi stage, but in next days any of my two shrimps wasn't release all egs. I'm starting to worying becouse i was planing to add salt to this aqua, so i don't know what I should do. One of my shrimps is releasing egs still, but she is doing this for 3 days now and it should be 2 days max. Help !!!!!!!!
Why not remove the larvae with a turkey baster and put them into your cycled saltwater tank?
You can only keep the larvae in saltwater...not the adult shrimp...you do know this right? Then when the larvae have morphed into mini adults they go back into full freshwater.
I was intent to brickish this aquarium and send old ones back to normal one. Maybe I should hold larwae in some place in brickish water and wait a few days more?
It is easy to remove most of the zoes, and better for the shrimp to do so.
Use a bright light with a dark room. The zoes are attracted to light. Turn off all filtration while you do this. A turkey baster works great. The zoes can be kept in a jar for a few days before moving to salt water.
Thanx, I was doing this first time and I thought that I will send my shrimps with egs to smaller aqua (10 liters), wait for resolving zoes and then I will take my shrimp back to aquarium with fishes and i will make water brickish in aqua with zoes... But my shrimps don't want to breed 'by the book'...
I have fev more shripms with egs in my aqua, maby I will try again, this time with one shrimp only... , or maby I'll wait for more resolving zoes from this two... I don't want to play with more containers, because in this moment I don't have space for this. Thanx again for help.

This is the reason I haven't bred mine....that and buying a salinity tester and playing with salt. I think it'll be a while before I venture into brackish or s/w.
