They don't seem to mind perching on my fingers -- most will even allow me to lift them out of the water like this. The green and rainbow shrimp I have now zip away if I move my hand in their general direction. (and my bamboo shrimp is scared to death of me! LOL)
I'm not complaining of course ....but has anyone else noticed how tame these guys seem to be? The four I had months ago from a completely different source were just as tame.

Yup. Afraid so. Actually, all of mine will try to land on my hand or crawl up my arm when I put it in the tank, including the greens (and the japonicas I used to have).
For some reason mine have gone into hiding the past week. I think they are mad I trimmed down their plants too much. Ill call the pet psychic on animal planet and ask her sonjia what do my shrimp wanna eat for dinner lol.

Maybe they're breeding? Mine were less outgoing, and that resulted in eggs!
As far as their "tameness" ... I imagine it could have something to do with the selective breeding of these little guys. Much like captive breeding makes fish lose schooling instinct, I would imagine these shrimp have lost their natural fears.
