I am back :)

Post by zapisto »

Hey , i am back had a baby :) and some new stuff.

A friend of mine , come back from asia (malaysia i think) , and show up at my house get his dog (i was taking of the dog for him) with a bag of snail and a 2 bags of shrimp.
he dont know anything about fish , shrimp or snail but he know i love them :)
anyway to make a short story
the only things he told me that , the first bag of shrimp was sold as :

Caridina sp. "Turbo Black Shrimp"

any of you guys know what sold under this name ?

i will try get some pics , but you know i am very bad on this sport  but will try do my best.
some of the shrimp carrying eggs and i was surprise by the color of the eggs , Black dark.

as i usually do when i dont know , i separate them in two batch
one batch at Ph 7.2 and one at ph 6.8

the second bag who actually have 5 shrimps and 1 dead (or almost) i manage to identify them as
Atyopsis Moluccensis
the 5 seems to doing well , they are actually filtering already

he told me he want to make me happy
Good friend :)

hope somebody will help me identify thoose shrimp
thanks

Congratulations with your new baby and your new shrimp  ! Either way you have your hands full. I hope you already know about babies if not you will learn soon through a lot of practice :D .

About the shrimp, I have heard about some cherry shrimp that have shown the black colored characteristic in some hatchings. It could be that someone has selectively bred these black cherry shrimp and are now selling them. Do they have any light colored marking or change their color in different conditions? How many do you have and do they all look alike? A picture would help a lot even if it is not all clear.

Welcome back:)

Congratulations zapisto,
I know how you feel having 2 young kids of my own (almost 3 yrs old and the other one is 9 months old). Well now you will have to choose between more time for the new cutie or more time for your shrimps.....hard choice!

Welcome back and congradulations.

That is the best way to get new members, into the Hobby.

Yes,
2 Lttle One's and Shrimp Keeping is a handful.
I am in the same Boat, they are 2 and 5.

They love to help out,
I just have to keep the Nets, Food, PH meter, out of there reach.

If you can find time
Please post a picture.

The picture's that were posted on the link, that Neonshrimp sent you, are of poor quality, and hard to tell what they are.

Welcome Back, zapisto + 2
