I spotted the oddball, and was able to net the critter for a pic:
(Best I could do with my camera,
but you can see the transparent back half.

Without a better picture I would have to say it looks like a cherry shrimp that has not colored up. How big and old is it?

It's ~1/2"+, none of the others that size look like it. The front half is normally colored, the back half is completely transparent. Even the smaller males have a more visible tail than this one. I'm not sure of the sex, will have to see if it develops eggs to be sure.

From what I can see, a whole bunch of my shrimps look like your pic. I believe they are either male or still developing or both. Time would tell.

I have had a few of those before.
Most of mine were the other way around, The front half was missing the color.
I have a Female that the back half, is intense red and the front half has very little red.
I will try to post a picture.

If this one's a male, maybe we could breed a new strain of colorless shrimp from them.
Since "Ghost shrimp" is already taken, maybe call them "Stealth Cherries"?

This is why selective breeding is such a useful tool. "Stealth Cherries" sounds cool

Maybe call them half cherries.

Critics would call them cherry pits.
I was thinking "stealth" because they'd be harder to see than the red ones, but "eyestrain shrimp" just isn't very appealing...
