Any shrimp that comes from india and has "black" in its name is usually not black. You're probably going to get a mixture of species again, but some of them can be quite attractive once they color out (like a solid brown shrimp).

you are so true.
what came from my observation is what i have prefer alkalin, medium hard water.
i separate the batch in two tank , on with alkalin, medium had water and one with acidic , soft water.
the shrimp in the acid tank seems not really active compared to the shrimp in the alkalin water, who actually actually are berried and really active.
i am expecting offspring soon.

If they are verifiably from India, then they can't be Neocaridina sp.. They are some sort of indian Caridina sp.. Either way....post some pictures if you have the time and the opportunity. :D

Here is a picture of a "Rainbow" Shrimp. I received a couple of weeks ago.

Image

Sorry for the poor Picture Quality. I have been trying for 3 day to get a good one.
This Shrimp is Black. It is not a deep dark Black, but, it is black.

I also received "Black Midget Shrimp" with this order. And there is no black Shrimp.

I will try again for a better picture.

Thanks for the pic Newjohn,

Can I see a fairly bright white stripe down the back of your black shrimp?

Yes, there is a narrow White Stripe.

The Shrimp that came in as Rainbow, vary in color from Blood Red, Orange, Green And the Black.

I am in the process of getting better pictures.
The Shrimp are always hidding, and only stay in one place for a short time.

The best thing is, out of around 40 Shrimp.
I have only lost 4. I am hoping that there will not be anymore.
