Gettin' Some Snowball Shrimp!!
YAY!!! I'm getting some snowball shrimp from a member on another forum!! I'm so happy!!!! I've been wanting some for awhile, and I'm finally going for it because this guy gave me a great deal! Any who! I have a somewhat empty 10 gallon that I'll put them in. I'm going to load the tank with Java fern for them. I think I'll move my 4 otos back in, and move my ABN into my 20 gallon long RCS tank.
I just want to make sure that I have everything correct for them:
Require same care as RCS. Correct?
These shrimp will make 4 species in my care. The others that I have are ghosts, Singapore, and RCS.

Snowballs look great and they are a hardy bunch. I have also got some recently and like them so much! Mine are living in hard basic water and are active and look great. Temperature does not seem to be a major factor with them. I have willow moss and floating java moss with them and it looks wonderful, good contrast of white and green. Best wishes with your new shrimp

Singapore shrimp are also called Wood shrimp, babmboo shrimp, Asian filter shrimp, and flower shrimp. Their Latin name is Aytopsis moluccenis (spelling on that last name?). I have a thread/log on here for the rearing.
In my apartment, I have one 5 gallon in the kitchen, 4 tanks + 2 empties on the floor in the dining room, and 4 tanks in the living room. The 2 empties on the floor are for my shrimp experiment that a local fish group member loaned to me. So, I have 8 tanks that are mine. That makes 10 tanks in my apartment. I think I am running out of sockets, because I am looking for ways to expand my socket numbers without burning down the apartment building. I guess it's a good thing that I have insurance.
I would have tanks in every room in the apartment, but I've already agreed to no tanks in the bedrooms, and I think tanks in the bathrooms is just plain gross on all levels
Neonshrimp: I have the same water as you, and all my shrimp species breed like there's Viagra in the water! With using water that's 8.2 out of the tap that's aged with Prime for one week, I get a 7.0 pH reading out of all of the tanks.
