Can you help me identify this Shrimp?

Palaemonetes antennarius?
Palaemonetes kadiakensis?
Macrobrachium lanchesteri?

What about these?

I'm trying to identificate them, so I can provide proper water conditions and alimentation to them...

The pictures that you posted are not of Crayfish.

They are probably a Macrobrachium species.

I have seen these labled as cameleon shrimp before and they looked just like the first 3 photos. Maybe that will help you in your search.

I agree with Newjohn, the first group do look a lot like the M. lanchesteri that I have seen at my LFS, and in pictures, although yours seem to have slightly different coloring.

I hope that at least helps a little.

Hi!

No, I don't know their origin: they were in the same aquarium, labeled as Macrobrachium spp, and they told me they were all from the same species...

The first group of picture may be of a Macrobrachium lanchesteri, yes... That was one of my hipotesis...

Any ideas about the second set of photos?

They are *not* M. lanchesteri....they are probably just juveniles. It's going to be hard to tell you what they really are at this point, if possible at all.

At least your fish store is better than some. The one I go to labeled very similar looking shrimp (to the first pictures) as "red spotted shrimp."

They are all of around 4/5 cm (about 2 inches)...

About the second set of pictures:
I still don't have a positive identification, it's probably a Macrobrachium species, I guess.. but I have a few new infomations:

They are quite darker now, with a black and a yellow transversal stripe on the dorsal area. They are about 5 cm, in hard water, with a pH around 8, and one of them is carrying many tiny eggs...

Am I right if I assume that this means they will not grow much more and that they are happy with the water characteristics?

Does this help with their identification?
