If you see one shrimp not moving and breathing rather hard... that would be the male :-D

Should I start getting worried? I'm about to be overrun by baby shrimp...!!! :smt107
Niiiice ... that makes us both even then, I have 7 females as well ... it is the male that is always making it difficult to count ... :-D

Overrun? Nah ... hehehehehehe ... Oleg might be interested though ...

TKD, if all goes well...

Amber, none of these seven are from Mustafa -- these are all the females I had previously. The females from Mustafa? ALL showing saddles. So there's more coming!! Aaaaaaah!!!

What happened with Oleg?

Wow, this is awesome news
So far I could only count up to 14 baby shrimps from my batch that hatched 10 days ago. How long does it take to grow to maturity? I'm pretty sure with 14, there should be at least 1 male to fertilize the other females I have. :D

It takes approx 3-4 months for them to grow to maturity.

Whomever was comparing the cherries to guppies was not kidding! :smt005

So Lets see 20 to 30 eggs per female count a 50% mortality.... :smt017

So you will end up with 70+++ babies living to adulthood. :smt118 :smt118

That is a 140 beteewn the 2 of you... :smt118 :smt118

Congrats ming!

Are these in a planted tank? If so, no doubt there are many more baby shrimp that you're not seeing.

Yup, its a planted tank
If theres more, yay
But I've tried counting and re-counting, the most I counted was up to 14
Then again, some days I count only up to 7... so theres some good chance a lot are hiding
I can't even see them when they're on the gravel because they just blend in

It was too small to tell whether it was a green or a cherry, but I saw a wee little baby today! :-D Sooooooo cute!!

And I just got a close look at the eggs of one of my cherries, and I'm seeing shapes inside the eggs now. Sooooo cool!
