Thanks! The substrate is nothing special, it's 50/50 of regular everyday substrate you can buy at any fish store with ecocomplete mixed, seems to be working pretty well.
The plants you can see on the left is Blyxa Japonica and the other plant on the right that my shrimp is kind of hiding under is
Bacopa sp. 'colorata'.

Thanks Neonshrimp He's doing quite well, i'd love to catch him when he's actually perched on some of my plants or driftwood with his microrganism catchers open catching meals and take a picture but i'm at work from 9:30AM - 6PM
Right now, i just crush flake food up really, really well and drop a little amount into my outflow of my HOB filter so when the crushed flake food hits the water it's almost instantly disbursed around the tank.
I took a lot more pictures of my Asian Filter Shrimp if anyone wishes to see them. I'll post them only if people are interested in seeing them. I just love this shrimp so much, he is the most unique living creature in my tank. I actually think "he" is a "she". Perhaps i'll post pictures and someone will be able to sex him for me. I finally got a semi decent picture of him with his chelae out filtering the water.
Please post the pictures up as it is always a joy and informative to see them. Looking at your previous pictures I think you are right about he being a she
I definitely will post some more pictures up tonight when i get off work (our system is down, so i'm on here ).
Do you think it'd be a good or bad idea housing an African Filter shrimp with my Asian filter shrimp that also houses RCS, harlequin rasboras, and otos in my 29g?
I just read about the african filter shrimp in the shrimp variety page and here is an exerpt:
"This shrimp should be kept in community tanks with small, peaceful fish and/or shrimp and sufficient current. This is preferable to a species tank as its tank mates produce the detritus necessary for the microorganisms in the filter to thrive and reproduce. The microorganisms, in turn, are carried by the current to the filter shrimp and filtered out of the water as food. This way, the filter shrimp does not need to be specifically fed. Targeted feeding might actually deteriorate water parameters and harm the tank inhabitants, as it's very hard to gauge how much this shrimp actually needs to be fed."

These shrimp are truly peaceful and harmless to its fellow inhabitants.
I've read the article Mustafa has up about the African Filter Shrimp a couple times and i've also read different articles i found online.
I guess i just want to be positively sure before I purchase one of these guys(or girl). I also wanted to be sure if i had enough room to house both my Asian filter shrimp and possibly an African filter shrimp.
Now all I need is to find one for sale somewhere, i've read about people finding them at Petsmart along with the Asian Filter Shrimp (where I got mine). I suppose i'll keep looking. I'll ask my lfs if they have any connections in obtaining this awesome shrimp.
