bamboo shrimp not feeding?
Hi- I have a question about bamboo shrimp. I got one about a month ago and about 2 weeks ago it molted. It was brown when I got it and is now reddish pink. I am concerned about it as it has not been filtering the water ever since it molted. It sits in one spot all the time with its fans closed.
I read the info page on this site and also did a search of the forums, but didn't see anything relating to this problem so I hope you can help!

Does your tank have a current to carry food particles around?

OK, the water quality is: Ammonia=0, Nitrate=0, pH=7.4.
It is not going onto the gravel at all- it never moves, but its fans are closed, so it's not feeding, right? It sits on a large mummy sarcophagus that is standing vertically under the filter so it can get the water flow. It seems like a good place for it, but it is not filtering the water.

My african bamboo shrimp, when it molted, spent two o three days just like the way you mentioned. It climbed on the siphon of the filter (it had never done that before) and spent there two-three days (I don't remember) with its fans closed. I even caught it and put on the floor, but it eventually climbed again to its chosen place.
I think it wanted its new fans to harden, and when they did, it went to the floor, started walking normally and spreaded its fans ...
But two weeks may be too long for that ... could it have had a problem when molting? Nitrites or so?
Good luck!
Byes!
