Green Shrimp Breeding Progress?

Post by shrimpbaby »

I've been following all of the threads on the green shrimp for the past year or two. I was wondering if anyone is having any success breeding their green shrimp yet? I know that several members have aquired them in the past.

I was able to get ahold of some today and I'm so excited. I'd love to see them become more common in the hobby. They were, of course, imported adults and they're extremely stressed, but I'm hoping with some TLC, some will survive. We shall see.

I'm fairly certain that they are all female, however I'm still a bit inexperienced with these type of shrimp so I'm not positive yet. Right now several of them are hiding and I can't get a good look at them. I know one has a saddle.

Just give them a little time to settle in. And they will get used to there new home and they will come out.

Make sure that you keep up on the water changes.

You will be able to tell if they are Females, The saddle on the Greens
is fairly easy to see.

I have had several berried Females but I still have not seen any little ones.

I hope this helps

I had just about given up hope on mine. They are very shy and stay under the oak leaves most of the time. Yesterday I say 3 juvies, so they have been busy!

That's great that you've got some juvies, Badflash.

This morning mine are starting to hang out more in the open. I guess they're settling in, however, a couple look pretty sickly.

I've got five all alone in an already cycled 10g.

I was looking again, and yep, they're all girls. They sure are cute little buggers.
