Further ideas about the shrimp who are having problems with their shellscan be discussed over here.
Hey David,
I see you found the forum! Guess the e-mail I sent was a waste
After reading your posts here I think the problem is just the TDS is higher in your tanks and I hope once the cherries get through this first molt they should be okay.
If not let me know.
Also I keep my temps a little hotter for my cherries but I dont think that would show up as a problem.
The very sensitive crystal red and bee keeping experiences have shown me that TDS levels have a big impact on shrimps and shows up mostly at the molting period.
I wonder if what i see in your pic is due to a growth surge in the exoskeloton of the shrimp. I am researching this more myself.
It really sounds like you take good care of your water and I think the shrimps I raised will have a good home with you which makes me happy.
I hope you dont see more problems through this difficult period for them but if problems continue to show up I will do what I can to help.
Paul.

Thanks for the encouragement. I had the temp at the low end, because I'd heard rumours of the ghosts getting aggressive at higher temps and I didn't want to take that chance. The ghosts have been moved now anyway, and it's been so hot lately that the tank has often been up around 76, 78. I should probably just raise the thermostat on my heater just to avoid these daily temperature swings. It's probably too late to try to acclimate them if they're already seeing these temps daily.
