Hy all,
I was skipping through the pages of the new Karge/Klotz book and discovered this species I wasnt aware of : Dugastella valentina.
Has anybody any infos about it, I searched the forum and googled the beast but couldnt come by much interesting information.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

There is really not much first hand info out there. As far as I know only a handful of people in Spain (where this species occurs) have kept it. It is not commercially traded. Its requirements should be similar to other dwarf shrimp. They don't need saltwater for reproduction. It's more closely related to Atyaephyra desmarestii and various Paratya spp. (but apparently still not *really* closely) than to Caridina spp. and Neocaridina spp.. Another Dugastalla sp. occurs in North Africa.
Found a pic... maybe

Hi all!
Sorry for digging out this old thread!
I´m soon back from a trip to spain where we try to take some photos from freshwater invertebrates native in this country.
Some photo from theese species you can find in the news section of our HP:

Greetings
Werner
