water ph in well water

Post by dixienut »

hi i'm new here and have a few delemas,
first i recently got the shrimp bug, have since goten cherrys, green shrimp, yellow shrimp, and crystals s,s1, and yes fell for orange too, i have the cherrys in a community tank with guppies and the've exploded in numbers, the oranges and crystals in a 15gal, and the greens and yellows in a 10gal, are these colors compatable together will they mix breed, where i bought them said no but ?
next is the ph, my well in the spring/summer is at about 7.-7.5 and in the fall it drops to now out of tap is 6.4, it drops quickly and i need to do a water change, i usually do large water changes, but the ph dropped so fast its too acidic now will the cherrys orange green and yellows be alright? or can they cope with it just adjust slowly? and the crystals i read like acidic water , will they be stressed in the spring?
should i use a ph up product or just let them get used to the ph, i use prime and nothing else in the tanks, the cherrys are in a 46 bow.. any advice is helpful..not sure what changes the well water but used to do water changes 1xmonth till it changes and the ph droped and it killed all my bacteria in all my tanks , then i do water changes every week so keep the water constant. but now i have the shrimp, cherrys been here 2months and the rest 1-2 weeks, help?

Showing impatience and having an attitude is not going to get you any replies here. I was going to reply to this but this kind of attitude just turns me (and I'm sure others) off. I'm closing this topic.

I highly recommend doing some more extensive searches on this forum and website before posting anything else. The need for that is apparent when reading your posts (e.g. it would be quite apperent that tiger shrimp are dwarf shrimp (posted in the blue tiger shrimp thread) if you actually read the species description on this website).

I still want to keep the quality of this forum up and not clog it with repetitive questions and answers.
