RCS with a worm or something

Post by Shaun »

I just noticed that my bigest reddest RCS has a tiny little white thing sticking out of her back. I thought something might be wrong with her because she developed an opaque pink stripe down her back a while ago (she use to be translucent), I thought it was something that just happened with age.
It only sticks out 1 or 2 mm.
It is white and cylindrical.
I don't know what to do? I found some info doing serches but no one seems to have described what I am seeing.
Should I seperate her from the rest of my shrimp?

If you have a photo of the shrimp this would be best to help you with the problem. Is the shrimp acting abnormal?

Sorry, i'm not able to post photos. She seems to be acting fine, and now the "worm" is gone. I don't know what to make of this.

Could it have been a piece of the shell remaining after a molt? 1-2 mm is short for a worm that is visible to the naked eye. Well keep your eyes open and let us know if you see this happening again.
