Sorry to hear they died. You might try putting them in a small tank which has half or more of the water from the original tank. Or use the "Squeeze" mothod of squeezing out the filter sponge from the older tank. Hope you find more black/blue shrimp.

ya I had used an older sponge from a cycled tank and added a bunch of moss. I am still suspicious that it was my colorquartz substrate that did it.

Was the New Tank cycled ?

In my experience you still have to wait a few weeks before introducing shrimp to be on the safe side.

Yes I think I was moving to fast :(. I have to learn to slow down on these things and take my time setting up new tanks and moving species around.

Waiting is a good idea in most cases. I actually take the water from water changes I do on my established shrimp tanks and use this to start a new tank. I add little if any new water when starting a new tank. It has actually worked well all the times that I have done this. If you try it let us know how it worked for you.
