i have a snail and limpet problem that i REALLY REALLY want to get rid of. i'm tired of seeing all the baby snails (except MTS) and limpets on the plexi surface. i want to use a snail remover product (with copper) to get rid of them. what if i added a few pennies into the water? will that help kill them?
my plan of attack is to move the shrimp (and some of the larger MTS) into a diff't tank temporarily. then add the snail remover. how long before it is safe to return the crits back into the planted tank? will i need to add carbon to the filter?
also, i've considered getting puffers and loaches but i dont' want to decimate the population of MTS (these are the only snails i like). are there other methods?
thanks in advance.

No. The copper in pennies is not bio-available.retardo wrote:what if i added a few pennies into the water? will that help kill them?
You would be better-off to use a water treatment that will bind the copper.how long before it is safe to return the crits back into the planted tank? will i need to add carbon to the filter?
