Shrimp Species

Post by ChrisMohrSr »

My son brought me a baby octopus from one of his fishing sites. Along with the octopus he brought me six shrimp which he said were ghost shrimp.
However, these shrimp are white with one huge white claw. They do not look like pictures I can find of ghost shrimp and they are larger than ghost shrimp are supposed to be, according to the literature. My question is, are these some strain of ghost shrimp? If not, what kind of shrimp are they?

Thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me. :smt102

Without a picture it's impossible to say what kind of shrimp you have. Try to take a few good pictures and upload them here. There are countless species of shrimp in the oceans and the picture would narrow the choices down somewhat.
