yes i do like that also.Mustafa wrote:I like how you have multiple glass sections as the cover for your tanks. Makes maintenance a lot easier if you don't have to constantly remove a large, one or two piece top to reach into the tank.

Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
Making them easy to maintain was a key point.
Less time in maintaining,
Means more time to ENJOY.
I have broken countless pieces of glass in the past using only 1 or 2 piece tops.
On these 20longs, I like to use 4 piece tops.
Now that I have the finally layout for the Water & Air Lines installed
I need to change the sizes of each piece of glass and drill different hole locations for these lines to avoid the Light bulbs.
( Pictures to follow in a few days )

Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
Here are a few photos of the progress.
Never mind the date on the pictures.
I just change batteries and was to lazy to change the date.
L.E.D. lighting w/ Acrylic Mirror Reflectors.
Air Lines - Blue. I am using Irrigation Drip Emitters to regulate air flow.
Water Lines - Clear. I am using Quick Disconnect Unions.
I am using Quick Disconnects for the Wiring.
Just may want to change the lighting at some time.
Now I have to start on the Top Row of Tanks.

Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
Are any reflectors on top? The way the lights are oriented (sideways) it seems like a lot of the light gets reflected just by the wood that it is pointing at.
Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
I have Acrylic Mirror Reflectors above the lights.
The light orientation is temporary.
I need to find/build a mounting bracket to correctly position the light for proper illumination.
The initial thought was to use a L.E.D. mini spot light.
The Angle/Spread of these Bulbs was to narrow for the " Height above Water " and would require 3 bulbs per tank.
The pictured bulb will illuminate the tank when in the proper position.
But, it will be in the way when doing maintenance.

Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
you could always get some new work cans from your local hardware store, and mount them on the braces for the tank above. that will at least point your lights down, and you can use multiples if you need them. Don't need the trim rings, that knocks down your price a bit. I would post a link, but alas, not allowed. I'm new, i don't want to break the rules right away. A quick google for new work recessed lighting will bring up what i'm talking about.
Also, at least one store, (the orange one) sells recessed cans that are made of aluminum, then the humidity wont cause rusting issues.

Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
Looks like Newjohn has disappeared...haven't seen him around in months. Anyway, you can actually talk about stores (like Home Depot...the "orange one" ) and post picture links, but I just don't want outright advertisement for commercial places. That was the problem in the beginning where people with their own stores would just come here to spam their links. You're obviously not spamming so don't feel too restricted.
Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
Sorry. Didn't see that the post was that old. Thank you for the store advice. I'm definitally not here to spam. Just want to collect as much advice as I can and give a little too.
Re: Rebirth of the Invert Room
No problem at all.
