so i think my wife officially banned me from the LFS. Every time i go there i spend too much money on something "She" dosn't think i need.
This time it was a 2 gallon (8x8x8) rimless tank with an LED light bar and a sponge filter.
Transferred everything over from the old tank to the new (the shrimps took quite a ride)
The way i did it was use a 1/2" clear tube as a vacuum cleaner to syphon most of everything (including the shrimp) from the old to the new. Let the cloudiness settle a bit, moved some of the water back to the old and syphoned again (more like vacuumed) until i got out 90% of the sand. so far 24 hours later all looks pretty good. waters pretty clear and the shrimps are exploring their new home. The new tank seems much bigger even though i know its not. old one was a 1.6 this one's a 2 gallon. Biggest difference is that this ones short and fat, so there is much more "floor" space.
how on earth do i shrink down the attachment and make it a linkable thumbnail? i tried and couldn't figure it out.

Any updates?
As for the picture, this forum software does not have that function (as far as I know). You don't really need to link to this picture to make it viewable fully as clicking on the picture right here will reveal the full size of it (and clicking again will shrink it back).

Re: new tank for the shrimps
so far, so good,
the babies are really growing, they're up to about a half inch long. still have one adult left, and about 5-6 babies, not sure on the exact count though, they never sit still long enough to count.
the sponge filter is awesome, they love it.
i'm rebuilding an old stainless tank with a slate bottom right now. i think thats going to be the next tank for shrimps. i really want to find something that i can plant on the bottom that will take over the slate like a carpet.

Re: new tank for the shrimps
Thanks for the update! Java moss will attach itself to the slate bottom and take over, although it needs to be trimmed to look like a "carpet." Java fern will attach itself, too, after a while, but won't look like a carpet obviously.
