A fast video of one of my Opae Ula releasing larvae

Back on Feb 6th of this year one of my Opae Ula gave "birth". Here is a very short and quite terrible video of it.

Watch close at the very beginning as one of the larva swims from bottom left towards the top and to the right.

I have two more berried opae in the same tank.

Thanks for the compliments on the videos. They take quite awhile to upload, even on broadband. Reason they're so short. Will try to make longer ones next time. (When, hopefully, I'll have the patience to wait! )

Thanks for the video, Rob! I don't see any larvae actually hatching, though, so maybe you should rename the video: "Video of shrimp with very advanced embryos in eggs." It's quite normal for eyes and body shapes to be visible already in advanced stage eggs. It can still take several days for the larvae to hatch.

Did you see the first video, Mustafa? Watch closely when it firsts starts... You'll see a larva swim from bottom left over, out, up and to the left.

So that's the larvae where I have the arrow? I thought they might be to small to see very well but I guess not.

Yes Jill, you're very good! That is one of the larva.

They are very difficult to find with the naked eye, (at least with mine!). The video was a bit "close up".

Yes, I see that larva. I still don't see it hatching in any way in the video. I've seen shrimp and larvae (depending on the species) hatch from eggs and they kind of fling themselves out of the egg. If that's what happened to this larva, it definitely did not get caught on the video.
