After three months I have my own baby shrimp larvae. I can't believe I'm excited over a few mm size critters swimming around but babies are exciting no matter how small.

Where do they hang out? Near the surface or?

They seem to hang out on the bottom till an adult runs into them then they swim up a few inches and then land again. I'm surprise they don't get damaged from the adults running them over.
Some hang out on the sides of the tank a few inches up from the bottom. There's about seven and they all seem to hang in the same corner of my five gallon tank. I'm not feeding them. I only feed the adults a few specks every two weeks or so.

Eightoeight the Opae larvae do not need to be fed. They have a yolk sac that gets them to post larvae/juvie form. Interesting that they hang out near the bottom. Mine have usually stayed near the surface where the light is brightest.

Interesting you say that Ken because my light is not so bright on top so I have a little light I turn on that brightens up the corner towards the bottom and that's where they all hang out.

Congrats! Awesome pictures! As one can see in the last picture, the larvae (and juvies) have proportionally much larger eyes than the adults.
