Is live sand good for supershrimp?

I was thinking of getting some live sand for the soon to be mine shrimp, I was wondering if 1 it would hurt the shrimp 2 would he bacteria die in the brackish water and 3 would it benifit anything?

Save your money do not buy live sand buy more shrimp

Thanks!, just wondering I ordered a 3 gallon tank with lights for my shrimps.
