Hello again everyone. I've had my new tank set up since the end of August and everything seems to be going very well. I've had at least two new batches hatched in that time.
Recently I've noticed a few patches of some new growth and I've been unable to identify it 100%. I was thinking it may be cyanobacteria, but again, I was unsure. I have algae in quite a few spots on some surfaces, but I don't mind the look of it and the shrimp seem to enjoy grazing on it. I only feed them a toothpick tip of spirulina powder about once a month and top off the water. I just want to make sure this new stuff isn't harmful to my little guys. I've seen some shrimp grazing right next to it (maybe even on it, I was unable to tell at the time).
If it is OK I'll let it go, if not I need to get rid of it ASAP.
Any info appreciated.

It probably is cyanobacteria, but I don't see any reason to get rid of it. If the shrimp are fine, just keep it. If it spreads it usually means that there are too many nutrients so just cut down on the feeding.
