Ghosties hatched

Post by sprucansailor »

I came home yesterday and found my mamma shrimp had no eggs! I looked closer and I saw a bunch of tiny shrimp larvae seemingly stuck to the glass. I really had to look! But I found them, then when I came back after taking care of my other fish, I did not see any at all.

Aside from the larvae, there are only 2 ghost shrimp in the tank. I think that they will be ok, right? There is Java moss, Apongentium hybrid, and algea in the tank. It is a 5 gallon with a sponge filter. I put in some ground up flakes for them to eat. I keep the temp at about 78 - 79 ish.

Is there anything I can do to help the little guys, or just let nature take its course?

Thanks

Take out the ghost shrimp (if you have another good home for them). They will eat the larvae if they can catch them (which usually happens at night and when the larvae settle down on the ground at times). Do NOT take them out if you have no other place to put them under the right conditions.
