In tank one i have raised the LED lights up a good 10+ inchs and added a real, real low set filter and since adding the biodigest it seems to have really settled things down.

They are starting to become a darker red and only about 6 or so are still swimming around like when you first introduce them, the little injured guy i put on his own in tank 2 was swimming around really well too so thats great :)

Heres the 1st tank that has started to settle down, its about 5 - 6 weeks old.

I tested the new tanks parameters and it showed nitrites, wasn't there yesterday I assume the biodigest has made the tank cycle come on quicker so I have netted all my shrimp out and put them in my large tank.

I didn't feel right about leaving them in there so I checked on them this morning and all is well. I've been testing the water quality dailey so I'm glad I caught it. I know nitrites are not as toxic as ammonia but I didn't want to risk it.

They are very difficult to catch in a net lol.

Ordered some nag food bowls for my tank and my Feeder tube came :-D

The shrimps I moved are starting to colour up in my large tank, they seem happier also. These shrimps are very social indeed and they all cram onto rock together. Maybe it's power in numbers.

well tonight i spotted a very very small shrimp sat on my heater! its TINY and skinny and seems to lurk rather then venture around the tank, ive had these guys about 3 or 4 months at a guess but i haven't seen any berried females or larvae floating around, we spotted one thing that looked sort of like one but shrugged it off as it was one on its own.

Sort of feeling bad as ive done a few water changes in the last months because of water samples showing tiny amount of nitrites and i now hope i haven't sucked them out of the water :(

edit: the baby one has a clear stripe too lol.

After I removed the shrimps in my two cubes and back into my community tank, I have been testing the water qualitys and the nitrite spike has disappeared so the tanks must be ready, I put one shrimp in each tank and they were not too happy or eating for a few days but after a week they both are nice and red and are eating from the rocks etc..

I'm going to select a few really red ones for one tank and put the shrimp with clear bands in the other tank once I think they are big enough to be netted and put into a seperate tank.
