Springtime romance
I have not given much credence to the increase in breeding do to the springtime but the results of others and my shrimp seem to say otherwise. Hawaii does not have a springtime like here in the northeast. Short to long days and cool to warmer temperatures. Did not think its in their DNA. Right now i have about a dozen floaters and a gaggle of berried shrimp. Shrimp know somethings in the air. Must be romance.

Could it be that during spring time the temps in your tanks are at the lower end of their range? I noticed that if the temps get too high, close to 80 and above (or too low like in the 50s or below) reproduction slows or stops. The shrimp are super happy in the 60s though...even low to mid 60s..but it seems like 66-73 (approximately) is the sweet spot range.
I personally didn't notice any spring time activity...just lower temperature activity. But then...I live in San Diego, which does not have a 4 season climate.
