Hi dear all bro/sis

I am newbie to Shrimps...and lazy to search for QA..so started this new thread....


Just started 2 weeks ago.......
My tank size 1.5ft x 1ft x 1ft
Tested tank water condition
PH6.8 / KH3od / GH<3od / No2 0 / No3 10 ( Is this measure ok ?)
Ammonia not tested yet...

Collected some shrimps as below

10pcs yamato
10pcs tiger
10pcs bee
20pcs cherries
15pcs malayan
12pcs crystal red
7pcs crystal black
5pcs mosqitoes


Please give me more advise for safe keeping Shrimps....

Oh ya... what is the lowest temprature for shrimp ?

were did you get your tigers from? by the way your tigers, bees and crystal reds might cross breed.

i'd make sure your tank is FULLY CYCLED. shrimp (and fish) of any variety are sensitive to ammonia. they will die. test for ammonia ASAP.

plus, given the number of shrimp you have, you may not have the established biofilter to support them, which may result in deaths. i hope you at least have plants to help the tank cycle faster. either that or do more water changes.

re: temp, shrimp do fine at room temp as far as i'm aware. they don't necessarily require a higher temp; their metabolism goes up in warmer temps tho (they eat more).
