The impression I get from talking to my limnology professor is that A. bisulcata can still be found here on Oahu with some trouble (but not an extreme amount). But I'm not sure. I'll need to get some more guidance on where to look. Less developed islands like Kauai and Molokai likely have much more untouched wild populations of them.
They remind me of a Hawaiian version of Yamato shrimp for some reason. The size, and their rearing may be similar. Though it's possible they may be more difficult to get to spawn. I think if I could get a few spawns, I could learn to get some post larvae. I've had some successful experience rearing Macrobrachium rosenbergii (30-40 days as brackish larvae) and also penaeid shrimp (though penaeids grow up real fast even starting as nauplii!).
Hello from Germany, Information on ghost shrimps ?
