Great Jackie!
The little guys in the eggs look like they are going to hatch anytime! Congrats on the hatchlings in the bag...those are the ones that are most likely to survive and produce progeny. As you can see it's very important to establish breeding populations of all of these shrimp in captivity considering the death rate of a lot of the shrimp. 20% survival rate is terrible, but it's not unusual for imported shrimp and especially this species. If only 20 animals out of a shipment of 100 dogs/horses/cows etc. would survive, then there would be a huge outcry and protests. With shrimp, people don't seem to care that much.
This proves what I was suspecting about these shrimp...that they produce fully developed young in complete freshwater.
To everyone:
The exporter from India decided to give this shrimp the name "rocket shrimp." Other exporters might decide to name it differently, so it's not set in stone. Also, this shrimp has not been scientifically identified yet (although it might well have been scientifically described already).
I am going to attempt the breeding of this shrimp on my side here too as soon as I get new breeding stock (the last shipment arrived all dead or semi-dead and died later

). It should arrive any day now.
Take care,
Mustafa
